BSGI Started the 3rd Batch of the Geographic Information System (GIS) for Professionals Training Course

BSGI started its 3rd training on GIS for professionals on 23 January 2022 at Dhaka. The duration of the training will be five days from 23 January 2022. Md. Rejaur Rahman and Md. Moniruzzaman will conduct the training course as Instructor.
Bangladesh Society of Geoinformatics (BSGI) is a Professional Association of GIS, Remote Sensing, and Photogrammetric Professionals in Bangladesh and abroad. BSGI aims to build capacity on Geo-informatics among governmental and non-governmental agencies and to guide and assist the proliferation of Geo-information technology and the sharing of ideas, information, knowledge among users, professionals, and institutions.
Participants from different government and multinational companies are attending this training program. There are ten (10) modules and seven (07) individual exercises in the training session. Also, from the training program participants will learn about the fundamentals of GIS, familiarize themselves with ArcGIS components, the benefit of Geospatial Data application of GIS, challenges, and future of GIS uses. Participants will also learn different map projection systems, GIS database preparation such as digitized scan maps or high-resolution satellite images or other source maps to develop land-use databases or social facilities databases as necessary.
This training program will help the participants to learn how GIS gathers different kinds of information and is easily accessible for analyzing and extracting relevant information within a moment. By completing this course, participants will learn how to prepare a layout map such as land use map, resources map, location map, and others as required with necessary information.
In the opening session, training coordinator and BSGI Executive Committee Member Md. Rejaur Rahman said, “BSGI is a national professional institute to promote geospatial technology to users and professionals. We are starting this training as a part of the mandate of BSGI. BSGI will provide quality training and support to the participants to achieve the goal of the training.”
During the opening session, the chief guest was Md. Fazle Reza Sumon, General Secretary, BSGI. In the welcome speech of the training opening session, Mr. Sumon said, “This training will be an opportunity to enhance the capacity and efficiency of using GIS and the core benefits of this training will increase in GIS knowledge among your workforce which will draw greater opportunities and add value to your professions”.
